Conversion Kit for Toyota Camry 4-cyl

I have purchased a 2000 Toyota Camry 4-cyl that I will pick up tomorrow (Saturday).  I plan to keep it for many more years and want to install a conversion kit so I can run on E100.

I have written to Ian inquiring but got no response so thought I would try again here on the forum.

I would like to purchase here to help support Dave & co.  However, knowing so little about the various kits available, I would like to find out if Dave's kit has any significant advantages or disadvantages over the competition.  Is there another kit that would be best for my new (old) car?

Also, other than making my own alcohol or buying from my local E-85 station (this morning I paid $3.459 for it, and $3.999 for the Regular in a 50/50 mix), does anyone know where and how I could purchase E100 in bulk?  I live in San Diego, CA, and would like to set up a co-op if we can find a source.

Thanks much for your comments.

Well, it is finally done.  On Saturday morning I completed the conversion, started the engine and it ran great.  Today I filled it up with 16 gallons of E-85 for $3.199 per gallon.  What a nice feeling.  I have been breaking it in since I got the car (1gal first tank, 2 the next, etc. until I was at 50/50 mix.  Then I got the kit and found out that my Toyota did not have the Toyota connectors, so needed to get the correct connector harness.  Then when I installed it the engine would not fire, so checked the polarity and found out that not only did the factory (in KY) not use the Toyota connectors in their wiring harness, but they also used negative polarity.  I was told that having both issues is almost unheard of, but guess it is par for the course for me.  Anyway, I was able to change the polarity of my kit harness and it ran wonderfully.  Two lessons learned: (1) check the connectors on your vehicle before ordering; (2) check the polarity of the vehicle's wiring harness.  The connector issue caused me a one week delay, the polarity issue cost me about 1 more hour.  It could have been quicker, but I had to learn how to do it and three of the connectors behind the engine were difficult to get to to change.  Of course I had already used cable ties to clean up the installation before I tried to run the engine.  Anyway, I finished it and now all is right with the world.  Now if only I could locate a source of Alcohol, or get my own still....

I now have 200 miles on the conversion.  I can feel the extra power when I am going up hill.  What a nice feeling.  Can you tell that I am happy???

Great info, congratulations Frank, Thanks for sharing!
