One of the greatest thing we have done here this year is to start an Organic Garden that we use to help feed our community. We are enlarging it for next year and the operating a garden this size was a great learning experience. Get one started in your area. It will open area you did not even know existed. It is great to see all the people promoting alcohol for fuel. I am gathering parts to build mine now. I'm gathering people to start a community supported ethanol plant. I want to keep our dollars right here in our own community. I started my own business to help support my building of this by helping pets live a longer life You can check it out here http://www.wecanchangeyourlife.com All those working on building a community project please cont me and lets talk. I'm looking to set up a production facility in France and am looking for partners. Alternatively I would like to become involved in an ongoing effort in that country. France is my first choice but anywhere in Europe will work. anyone?

Mixing Feed stocks and what page is the donuts on???
Maybe I'm dull & this is hopefully more of a conformation request than question.
Can you mix your feed stocks as long as you keep the starchy vat (in other words the tubers, cassava, etc) and sugar vat (fruits (you can mix fruits right), veggies, molasses, etc) separate during fermentation then mix them together for distillation?
Question 2:
What page does David talk about cooking with donuts and throw away pasta? I have a possible source for stale pastry's and breads.
BTW still looking for participants in this project (weather it's for the group or big enough to supply others) in the Orlando,Kissimmee, Saint Cloud area!!!
GAS is on it's way back up and now is the time before the masses and big business take this seriously & the little guys is out of the picture!!! Thanks and hope everyone well in their endeavors!

Rick,
The State of Michigan has a grant program for people who develop workshops targeted at the biofuel community. I think the maximum grant is $2500. I was thinking this would be a good opportunity to set up an ethanol road show and start demonstrating the process to others in our area. Imagine taking a still to a farmer's festival, distilling off some high proof ethanol, and then putting it in the fuel tank of the vehicle you drove there with. I think that would catch some people's fancy. It would be even better if we could help fund this effort with tax dollars from the Great State of Michigan!

Hi Kirk, I'm located in South Eastern Michigan and have very similar plans. I would be interesteed to know of your progress.

I'm hoping to have my still up and running in the next couple of months.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your efforts promoting Ethanol fuel. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions soon but for now I just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm putting together a small demonstration distillery at my home to show others what is possible and hopefully generate interest in community distilleries for neighborhood use.

I'm starting with fermenting molasses and then whatever farm or feedlot waste I can find. I’m not too far from the Pajaro and San Joaquin valleys in central California so I’m hopeful. The still will have a 4-inch reflux column on a 50 gallon boiler. That should produce alcohol fast enough for demonstration purposes and still be manageable.

My idea is a business around developing practical nano-scale (<10,000 gallons/year) Ethanol production for semi-rural neighborhoods like mine based on currently available technology, off the shelf parts/products, and locally available feedstock. Then use the business’s knowledge and experience to promote community supported Ethanol production.

Kirk
