My name is Randy - I helped Dave Blume get his book into circulation and am the moderator of the ALCOHOLICS UNANIMOUS forum.
I also am the CEO of a technology company that has been through several startups. I can help answer business questions related to the new opportunities being presented by Alcohol fuel - including side businesses.
I have friends that have started rain barrel companies, chicken coop manufacturing, alcohol stills - all trades of the alcohol revolution. If I can be of service to you, feel free to post public questions or message me directly.

So what about a business model that converts upscale SUV (and everything else) to pure Alky, and a subscription service to bring them the fuel. This would target the commuting executive that bought his half million dollar dream home 75 miles away from his downtown office when gas was $1.50.

Hello,
I am considering a small commercial plant using sawdust / woodwaste. If you happen to have any information on others doing this or any information at all I would be happy to hear from you.
I was looking for information on setting up a local ethanol co-op distribution. Dave had mentioned the possiblity of forming a group for installing an above ground pump. How does the process work?
I would start a Facebook group and create a page for yourself called "Ethanol Europe" or something. Then start hyper-local and find your local distiller - they'll know the hooch-brewing crowd in your town. Go there to one of their meetings, and if there is no local group for alcohol fuel / ethanol production, offer to facilitate one. The leaders will quickly emerge based on technological know-how and ability to get others to agree and take action.
That means you need to create your own A-team: Get your Hannibal, your Face man, and your Murdock. Then build a still or collect enough money to buy one (you can get one from www.stillenergysolutions.com) - I'm involved with that operation for full disclosure.
You need to find local land owners willing to start growing sweet sugary crops or get involved with wetlands creation and install cat tails. Whatever you can do to clean up the planet while you go make a killing and become a millionaire while other people sit on their asses and moan they can't get a job.
It's time to pull yourselves up by your own bootstraps everyone!
Other ethanol opportunities in Europe:
- Convert petrol engines to alcohol fuel engines with a simple conversion kit - I did this and my car runs hoock just fine with only a 10% mileage reduction.
Start a still business
guarantee local farmers a market for their sugary crops
start a soil remediation business and use cat tails as a natural filter and starch builder
REMINDER: Get David Blume's book "Alcohol Can Be A Gas" - the best investment you'll make all year!
I have helped the City of Portland, Gerding Edlen Development, Portland General Electric, the Portland Trailblazers, and other organizations as we deal with a collapsing economy, global warming, and crazy nuclear armed dictators. There are plenty of positive things that we can each do to contribute to making the planet a better place for all.
