Hello Betsy. You are obviously much further ahead than we are and I have to confess that I don't even know what a "CWS" is. The only CWS I ever knew was the "Cooperative Wholsesale Society" in England when I was a kid! I don't suppose you are referring to that!!
I am no scientist, I am just someone who is very interested in alternatives-fuels, currencies, polticians and any other alternatives that take power from the elte few and return it to the local communities where it belongs.
I will do what I can to help in any way that I can, as long as it is not technical
Kind regards
Geoff. Waterhouse
P.S. Welcome to our merry band by the way

Hi Geert and Geoff,
I have been talking to my friend who has built a biogas reactor about hooking biogas up to the ethanol process to help with distilling. Who do you think might be interested in this? He is keen to show the ethanol group what he is doing and talking about how a larger system could work in a community-owned sitution.
Also, I have been collecting research done from American universities about raupo to ethanol production and have come up with more detailed information than the book. Drawings of harveters, research on the most effective distillation methods, and specific information on Typha orientalis (the native raupo) How can this be shared with the group?
Also, my husband is a civil/environmental engineer and he is interested in applying for a grant to monitor the efficiencies and productivity of a CWS using sewage effluent from our community waste water treatment plant and Typha orientalis. Is anyone working along these lines already that we can tie in with?
Kind regards
Betsy Kettle

Hi guys
After several months of talking in transition towns, I would like to get my hands into something practical as well. This forum might be a good tool to get people working together.
Does this group has the full functionality of a Ning site (like sharing documents) or only email discussions?

Geoff Waterhouse and I will be talking on the radio about this on December 31, 2008.

Dear Randy,
Thanks for setting up the New Zealand site. How do I become administrator? I trust that you will assist until we are organised. I assume I can add other administrators as there are some that I believe would be interested
Regards
Geoff
