Very inspirational.

Hey Betsy,
This is your old friend in Seattle looking to reconnect. I tried e-mailing but it didn't go through. Hope you get this!

Hi Betsy
looks like there are still quite some questions in the raupo story.
As I said, we're lauching the NZ ning site for transition fuels to give us some more options to communicate.
I'm inviting the rest of the people at the meeting in Kaiwaka today, so hopefully by next week we'll have some discussion on that site. Also about raupo.
Would be good if you could copy your last post about raupo there.
Hi Betsy
We've started a new Ning site for sustainable fuels to focus on NZ: http://transitionfuelsnz.ning.com/
Great idea with the biogas.
About the raupo, we had several people interested in trying Raupo on our meeting last week in Kaiwaka. One of them had a natural marsh with plenty of raupo.
I'm a wastewater engineer myself and am working for local council here. Indeed, it might be a good idea trying to get funding to try this raupo idea.
I want to try and build a bio digester in 2009 and run my stove and hot water system, I also do permaculture, and grow most of our food. How much do you know about methane, and feed stocks. I grow a lot of potatoes and wanted to put the tops in the digester with horse manure and a feed stock.
