Bring Alcohol to Florida

Profile Information

What do you have to say about Dave's book "Alcohol Can Be A Gas"?
Got the book and thou only a couple chapters deep I am sold. Already talking to a couple people about how we can implement this in our area. Also went to pickens plan and posted this in about 5 of the groups I belong to.

Now looking for people in the area ready to get things started. Friends are interested but slow to react. Really need mechanically incline people. Any car mechanics out there interested please contact, it's tough to get straight answers about conversions and mpg loss.
About Me:
Over Twenty years of production experience with over Twelve years of freelance experience in the field of Videography, specializing in Digital/Electronic Cinematography & Lighting

it's a short form feature I made on a completely independent level. Not only pointing out some of the loop holes in the Patriot Act that bring us closer to an Orwellian life. But also trying to prove that in this world of web 2.0 we don't have to go through distributes to get our idea's and products directly to the customer. By saving over head which then can be passed on to the customer by charging a little less.

Meeting industry in trouble

The Meeting industry is in as much trouble or worse (since the companies going under are the ones who have the meetings) but this business supports more than those of us who do the shows. This effects everyone (in some way) in what ever town meetings are promenade. From the staff of the hotels (check in, maids, maintenance workers, waiters, set up people, bartenders, etc...)to the Theme parks (in our case) who these people go to in many cases renting a section of the park for parties to the… Continue

mixing feed stock and what page are the donuts on ???

Maybe I'm dull & this is hopefully more of a conformation request than question.

Can you mix your feed stocks as long as you keep the starchy vat (in other words the tubers, cassava, etc) and sugar vat (fruits (you can mix fruits right), veggies, molasses, etc) separate during fermentation then mix them together for distillation?

Question 2:

What page does David talk about cooking with donuts and throw away pasta? I have a possible source for stale pastry's and… Continue

Pickens people not interested at all???

I posted a question on 6 of the Pickens plan groups a few days ago asking if anyone has heard of the book. And was interested or had concerns in the possibility of alcohol for fuel instead of natural gas. Because of what I see as some of the obvious problems getting Natural gas on that level to replace gasoline in Florida thou I have no practical knowledge in this area. Can you believe I have had no responses, not even some flame telling me the food chain line???

However while working a… Continue

Interested in Orlando

Looking for all interested parties in the Orlando/ Kissimmee/ St cloud areas. Farmers, Auto Mechanics, industrial land owners, welders, investors and all those interested in forming a collision. And as important as the rest we need someone to help us make a business plan that will knock the socks off.

Time for a change that gets us off oil. That doesn't involve drilling, piping or using our food chain and it looks like Dave has done the hard work now it's our turn to implement and take some responsibly!!!

Hi,

I shoot business and event stuff, (PD 170) and edit (Final Cut Studio).
I have work on a movie where I learned alot about shooting, grip, and gaffer work. I am experience with event and video lighting.
I would like to get some some backers to put up funds for a program on cable about Alt energy (mostly photovoltaic, solar, and ethanol production). So I am putting together a proposal that I can use to solicit sponsors. It is months away though.
I am really hot about our current energy issues; I feel the whole group D and R's have really let the country down with all the power struggle BS. Anyone who voted for the "Bail Out" needs to not be reelected.

But to more important matters:
1. build a still
2. Power the boiler with Solar or Photo Voltaic
3. Create a series about it: Air it on PBS

Yes I have. Five years back you could find oil anywhere, but fewer and fewer people are eating out now because of the economy. Restaurants that would give me oil once a week are now down to once every two weeks. Some restaurants have gone out of business. In our area that's why I'm working with some local citrus farmers on putting in, jatropha the biodiesel tree.

I have looked at Pickens plan also. My theory on why Pickens is pushing Natural Gas is the fact that down deep he is still an oil man and probably owns the rights to much of the natural gas available. I don't disagree that natural gas is an alternative for short term but I believe that natural gas will run out eventually also.

Sorry I haven't been able to get back with you have been very busy working on my wife's car. I live in the Central Florida area on the East Coast around Titusville Kennedy space Center area. Yes, I been able to get some interest in growing jatropha's. My next-door neighbor has a horse Ranch of about 15 acres. We initially are going to try planting jatropha on their fence line. Since animals will not eat it this should make a living fence. We plan to collect all of the seed from the first crop and replant hopefully to have a couple of hundred to a thousand plants within a year or so. Have already had some interest from some of the local farmers. But of course, they are a bit skeptical of something new. The yield from the jatropha is is approximately 1 gallon of oil per tree and the trees can live up to 40 years with little more than rain water for irrigation and very little demand for fertilizer and would not compete with food crops thus eliminating the food versus fuel argument.
