What do you have to say about Dave's book "Alcohol Can Be A Gas"?
I consider ACBAG to be the best secular book I have ever read, and I've read hundreds, if not thousands, of books. Finally something *we* can do about Peak Oil without waiting for "someone else" to do it! Yeah!
About Me:
I have recently (12/1/08) purchased 17.8 acres of land to build a pilot ethanol/permaculture facility in Waldoboro, Maine. We are currently designing our operation and home. After working the bugs out, we *will* expand with multiple facilities in the Northeast.

12/3/09 update: Studied (cover-to-cover) the following books. Permaculture: A Designer's Manual (Mollison), Recirculating Aquaculture (Timmons/Ebeling), Aquaculture (Lucas/Southgate), Hydroponic Food Production (Resh), The Winter Harvest Handbook (Coleman), The New Organic Grower (Coleman), Four Season Harvest (Coleman), The Mushroom Cultivator (Stamets/Chilton), Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms (Stamets), Earthworms: For Ecology & Profit (Gaddie/Douglas). Building designed and working with Engineers. Experimental Aquaponics/Vermiculture/Mushroom culturing building designed. Road cleared, septic designed, getting ready for Planning Board Site Review. Excited!
I am located in:
Currently, MA... soon, Maine

Hi Dave-
Great minds think alike, I too used google maps to see how far away you were! That is a very easy drive, especially in our VW camping van! I understand the need to move quickly, we too are feeling the need to move , in terms of permaculture and producing alcohol. We are seriously looking for people to help us build quickly, community will be KEY! We also want to go a bit further and create a co-op with the farmers in Norton and Sussex (there is alot of farm community there).. It great that we are so close, hopefully we'll be able to learn from each other! I was just saying to Tim the other day that, I wish David Blume was closer, all of his stuff is so far away... But I think we'll be taking a trip to Santa Cruz someday soon as well!! I've been volunteering for them from home, I read your message offering your help as well, that is AWESOME cause they are super busy and just trying to get organized AND need all the help they can get to get this moving!!! Have you talked to Laurie@alcoholcanbeagas.com? She is the volunteer co-ordinator.. So whatever you can offer to them, would be a great help for the movement!!! Peace

Hi Dave! That is awesome! We'd love to come visit sometime and help out see what you are up to. We live in Moncton N.B, soon to be living on 5 acres in Norton N.B (about1.5 hours from the U.S border). We are looking to do very much the same thing, although the house we're moving into needs a bit of TLC (actually it needs to be flipped) before we can begin anything else. We're very open to exchanging and helping in whatever way we can. We do however, have 2 small children that come with us wherever we go. :)

This is an exciting time!
Look forward to meeting you someday!

peace
Denise
