I've been working on my structure this summer and have a small self contained still that's about half finished 'cuz thats how I got it. its an old mother earth news design from the early 80's that someone gave me after someone else cut off the copper tower. My goal is to be operational by Nov 1. I'm trying to get done before I lose the window of opportunity to qualify for a property tax exemption, I'll be posting photos of my humble operation soon. I'm bypassing the usual process of fermenting a grain type feedstock and going straight to sugar. Will be experimenting with HFCS to see if that works. Its about half the price of sugar but I can't find a local supplier. If my math is correct (and that may be an issue) I shopuld be able to make fuel for about $2.00/gal at retail sugar prices.
