Thanks for the kind words about my setup.
You mentioned an interest in the box. I'm not quite sure if you mean the malting box or the dryer (box fans). The malting box is about as simple as you could want. I just built it out of thin siding with enough room to allow air under and then drilled the bottom with holes. I lined it with that fabric for weed control, because it allows drainage, and left enough to fold over the top of the grain to keep the sunlight off. I used wheat for my trial. I soaked about 50lbs in pails overnight and then threw it in the box. watered it in on my lunch hour and once in the evening for a couple of days. By that time the shoot was as long as the seed. To dry the grain I used a large sheet of tin siding reclaimed from an old barn here in town. I taped a tarp to the edges and put a box fan at each end. I ran the fans while I was home and let the sun do the rest. I pulled enough sugar from the starches to grow a good deal of yeast, so it must not have stayed cool enough to preserve the enzymes. Thats about it, let me know how your still is going!
