If we are going to utilize 125 year old technology we must utilize a renewable fuel that is going to be around for another 125 years.

Hey Sodbuster,

I'm considering making a still and am curently waiting on my book to come after hearing an interview on the radio last night. Questoin is can you tell me about how much you have invested in the still in the picture and about how much output you get from it?

Thanks
Jim L.

Hey,
I have the factory engine manual for that 21 HP Kawasaki engine that you said you have too. If you are interested, I can send it to you. It's actually the factory manual. Has all the bolt torques, clearances, electrical tests, dis assembly/assembly, valve adjustment specs, bolt torque patterns, EVERYTHING!!! Anyway I like to share the wealth here. It is in pdf format. I had the wife print it out and put it in a binder at work so I could have it in the shop as well as on the computer. Plus it's just my way of saying thanks for all the help. My real email is bill@westek.org. If you shot me an email there, I'll send it back by attachment. Anyway, I need to go get ready for Gustav. Looks like I may be testing my generator on E85 sooner than I wanted to. Heheh. Anyway, have a good weekend!!! and seriously, I think you'll like that engine manual.

Cheers,
Bill.

Dear Mr Sodbuster,
Have taken onboard your comments. Here`s what I`m doing at the moment,..... have purchased two second hand stainless 205 litre barrels, the rocket stove is too powerfull for one, so I`m linking the two barrels together but still heat the one barrel with the rocket stove. My thoughts are then to either circulate the mash around the two barrels and have it spraying into the airspace above the mash in the barrel not on the stove to aid vapourisation or to bubble the steam from the stove barrel through the second mash barrel. The first idea is used in Graham Lamings methanol recovery system for BD and uses a venturi to pull air in. Have a look at the GL processor online and give me your thoughts please.
Regards
Tony

Sodbuster,
Who did you acquire the stainless steel boiler from? All of my web searching is turning up astronomically priced barrels- hopefully you can direct me to amore sanely priced unit.

Thanks for the info- that price spread is roughly 1/3 the prices from the online direct buy sites. Will jump at one in the <300 range.

Hi Sodbuster, Good to see you here! I'm just getting going right now! I have my hands dipped in a lot of renewable projects. If you go to my page you can see the PHEV Prius that I have that is almost finished. I am adding solar power at the farm also. My next step is the still I purchased. Thanks again.

Sedalia huh? My family is from their!!!! I remember going up north every summer and getting made fun of for my southern draw. LOVE that place!! Always reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting. Sedalia also hosts the MO state fair, great event to attend. Does the name Hugleman ring a bell? My great grandmother was the City Clerk for years and my great grandfather used to own a bar. Lot's of great childhood memories in Sedalia. Again, please take no offense to my spelling comment as my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder comes out in full force sometimes. LOL!!!

Hi Sodbuster,
My website for my Prius is www.phevprius.blogspot.com Auto Be Yours in Southern Indiana is putting an 07 salvage car back together for me with the plug in pack from Plug in Supply. I will be able to go 15 miles at 52 mph and under on battery power only. Or, I can use the second pack and get about 1100 miles per tank. My goal is to put a white lightening kit in the car and then run 100% ethanol with the extended battery pack. That would give me about 1100 miles for about 15.00 or so regardless of the price of gas!
My other current project is a solar array from www.bauerpower.com They just opened up an office in Dunlap, Illinois which is only about 45 minutes from me.
No, it's fine you have the still picture. It's your baby..you built it and nourished it. I just adopted it! It is great workmanship and a real great still! I am working on a website for my fledgling business and I am going to post that picture there. My email is saintjerome@yahoo.com
