A little about me ...

Greetings! I'm Laurie Masters, freelance editor and Alcohol Can Be a Gas staff member since August of 2008, when Dave asked for my help shortly after he appeared on Coast to Coast Radio for three hours and blew out all the circuits at PayPal, AT&T, and Dreamhost with more calls and Web hits than anyone could have anticipated. One of the project vehicles.

This particular blog might go for a few months with nothing in it, at least until the snow is gone and I can work outside. As I make progress, I will shoot photos and post information. I am on a very tight budget, as this isn't the only project I have going, so it will be done inexpensively and when time and funds permit, just like everything else I do.

Louisiana leading the way in Local Ethanol Production Legislation?

I stumbled on this post in the Green Car Congress. Anyone for LA here to comment on this legislation?

The law still favors the large producers (5M-15M Gal/Yr plants), but I like the "field to pump" strategy.

First Still Project

I have been working on a Charles 803 still and am nearing the completion of it. I have yet to come up with a good boiler design using parts I have on hand or can obtain inexpensively. I plan to get a 55 gallon drum and modify it into a suitable vessel.
