Community Forum For "Alcohol Can Be A Gas" Readers
Well I'm sure glad I found this site. I've been driving diesel Mercedes Benz cars about nine over the last four and half to five years. I have two right now. I run them on biodiesel when I can get it. I have run on straight used vegetable oil, too using my own and other's designed heated tanks, filters etc.
Now I want to get into the alcohol fuel thing as well. There is such a huge need on the part of most people, including me for an easily available alternative fuel.
I'm excited. While the vegetable oil fueled diesel cars got me off gasoline, I can see that becoming an evangelist for alcohol holds a much more promising potential over a wider spectrum of needs.
The first "conversion" I am going to attempt is my little Dahon, Honda powered fold-up bicycle.
I want to make or buy a still and begin to produce alcohol. I'm wanting to produce enough fuel for my needs and enough for several others, maybe a lot more than several as well.
Going to need a lot of help to start the ball rolling but once I get a vehicle, a still, and a workable program together, like I did with the vegetable oil, my hope is to help others get themselves up and running.
And beyond the transportation side of things, I want to build an "all alcohol" motorhome that can make its own fuel to run, cook, heat and cool itself and use it to tour to festivals, schools, etc. to stimulate interest and enthusiasm and show people how they can become totally sustainable on the road or in their stationary homes.
I was toying with getting a diesel motorhome but now, I'm going to change my plans and configure one for alky. First, the gassers are way cheaper to buy which leaves ample resources for the conversion.
If anyone has any imput, this blog is open for comments, thanks in advance.
